Teacher Training at National Scale via WhatsApp
In July 2025, MIT RAISE and Day of AI partnered with Rwanda's Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) and the Rwanda Education Board (REB) to train teachers in foundational AI concepts. To support delivery and measurement, Day of AI used Chatac — a WhatsApp-based learning management system — to deliver pre/post assessments and surveys, track teacher progress in real time, and automatically issue digitally verifiable certificates.
Day of AI needed a reliable way to capture high-quality training data — especially completion of pre- and post-tests and surveys — without the drop-off typically seen with web-based forms. The goal: deliver teacher assessments in a way that was simple, accessible, and scalable for national rollout.

Day of AI chose Chatac because it allowed teachers to complete training surveys and assessments directly inside WhatsApp, reducing friction and making participation feel like a guided experience rather than a separate task.
Chatac drove 93% completion rate vs. low-80% on web forms — capturing more complete assessment data and reducing the need for follow-up.

By building courses on Chatac, Day of AI gained access to each teacher's real-time progress and understanding, enabling better facilitation and monitoring during delivery.
At the end of the course, Chatac automatically deployed digitally verifiable certificates to teachers — removing manual admin work and ensuring completion was documented.
In a direct comparison between Chatac and Web Forms for teacher training assessments, Chatac achieved significantly higher completion rates.
